Self worth
Almost 2 years ago, as a result of reflecting on my Individual Effectiveness Profile, I realised some of the key reasons why I found it difficult to lose weight. Acknowledging this, I lost 25 lbs over the following 5 months, and managed to keep the weight off ( a first for me). Since Xmas last year, I've put on 4 lbs, which I've not got around to shaking off, because it's not too much and because I've got out of the habit of 'strict' weight watching. I had a holiday last week and there were pub lunches and cafes etc. so now I've reached the point of personal honesty and recognising if I don't take some action, get the stricter habits back, it'll be 8 lbs before I know it. I went to Weight Watchers who provide fantastic support, and, importantly for me, accountability. You can't hide from your weight there. So I've got a stricter pattern again to shift the 4 lbs. And my blog is my accountability.
Personal honesty is so important in monitoring progress and achieving goals. It's crucial for feeling good about yourself.

Self regard
I've taken a week's holiday recently which changed from going away to a combination of days out plus getting on top of things / chores in and around the home and office. In many of the books I have on building self esteem, there are usually suggestions about clearing things out, throwing out the old stuff etc so that what you have around you is current, is you as you are now, is in some kind of workable order and is not surplus to requirements. Believe me it works. I felt really good. Still do.
