Maureen has been a sole trader for 11 years working as a facilitator, consultant and coach in relationship management. In more recent years she has specialised in applied emotional intelligence, facilitating intensive, Emotional Intelligence based, top team development programmes.

"People, their interactions, their dynamics and their communication, have always fascinated me, hence my career of choice. I love what I do."

I am the author of me + you = (Trafford Publishing 2006), a senior tutor on the AppliedEI Masters Degree Programme and editor of the ezine AppliedEI.

I am especially interested in how emotions and attitudes shape our future, the role of emotional intelligence in creativity, intuition and maintaining high self esteem, and the links between emotional and spiritual intelligence.

Simon has worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors first as an adult educator and latterly as a senior manager. He has worked as a manager within voluntary organisations to help the long term unemployed, further education with a particular focus on student support, and the public sector implementing training and education policy.

For all the hyperbole about investing in people, it is still rare to find companies that trust their employees to get on with the task at hand, that support people emotionally as well as materially, that embrace risk and its consequences, and that invite the challenge of curiosity.

"Over my career I have realised that education and development, in their many guises, have the power to turn a life around. I am delighted when we release that power and find creative ways for people to discover the potential inside them."

I am a compulsive reader and self-developer. My current interests include imagework, creative thinking, chaos theory, general semantics and the power of language, psychotherapy, cooking, trying to keep up with my children's interests and walking our labradoodle.
